Job summary

The Best Connection is recruiting for HGV Class 1 Night Drivers for an ongoing position in Team Valley, Gateshead. The role offers regular night trunking work on a 4 on/4 off pattern with potential for permanent placement.

Pay rates include £17.43/h Mon-Fri, £18.45/h after 8 hours on weekdays, £17.68/h Saturday, £19.48/h Sunday, and £21.52/h on Bank Holidays. Applicants must hold a valid UK HGV Class 1 licence and a Digital Tachograph Card.

Qualifications

• A valid UK HGV Class 1 (CE) licence.
• Digital Tachograph Card required.
• Night driving experience and ability to work a 4 on/4 off rota.
• Strong attendance and flexible approach to shift work.

Responsibilities

• Night driving: safely completing trunking and transport duties during night-hours.
• Trunking: planned trunking between sites with no multi-drop deliveries.
• Shunting: moving HGVs and trailers within the client site when required.
• Vehicle safety: perform vehicle checks and ensure loads are transported securely.
