Job summary

The Best Connection is recruiting for HGV Class 1 Night Drivers for an ongoing position in Team Valley, Gateshead. The role offers regular night trunking work on a 4 on/4 off pattern with potential for permanent placement.

Pay rates include £17.43/h Mon-Fri, £18.45/h after 8 hours on weekdays, £17.68/h Saturday, £19.48/h Sunday, and £21.52/h on Bank Holidays. Applicants must hold a valid UK HGV Class 1 licence and a Digital Tachograph Card.

The Best Connection is currently recruiting for

HGV Class 1 (CE) Night Drivers for an ongoing position with our prominent client based in

Team Valley, Gateshead.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced

HGV Class 1 Night Driver looking for regular, ongoing work on a

4 on / 4 off shift pattern, with competitive pay rates and a genuine

temp-to-perm opportunity.

The Role

HGV Class 1 Night Driving: Safely and efficiently completing trunking and transport duties during night-time hours.

Trunking: Completing planned trunking work between sites, with no requirement for multi-drop deliveries.

Shunting: Moving HGV vehicles and trailers around the client's secure site when required.

Vehicle safety: Completing vehicle checks and ensuring loads are transported safely and securely.

Ongoing work: This is an ongoing temporary position with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.

Hours of Work

4 on / 4 off shift pattern

Night shift

• Weekend and bank holiday working as part of the rota

Pay Rates

Monday to Friday: £17.43 per hour

Monday to Friday after 8 hours: £18.45 per hour

Saturday: £17.68 per hour

Sunday: £19.48 per hour

Bank Holidays: £21.52 per hour

The Candidate Requirements

Licence: A valid UK

HGV Class 1 (Category CE) driving licence.

Digital Tachograph: A valid Digital Tachograph Card.

Experience: Previous

HGV Class 1, trunking or night driving experience is preferred.

Night driving: Candidates must be comfortable working regular night shifts and operating on a 4 on / 4 off rota.

Reliability: A strong attendance record and a flexible approach to shift work are essential.

Location: Applicants should be able to reliably commute to

Team Valley, Gateshead/Newcastle.
