Job summary

The Orders of St John Care Trust is seeking a Night Care Leader in Westbury to oversee a small care team during night shifts at Watersmead. You will keep a wakeful watch on safety and contribute to care plan reviews, ensuring accurate records and smooth team coordination.

You will lead with compassion, maintain high standards of resident wellbeing, and participate in ongoing training within a nurturing environment. Night shifts include weekends on a rotating pattern.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Diploma (or studying for Level 3) and/or Level 2 with willingness to progress.
• Experience in leading a care team and delivering high-quality care.
• Excellent communication and role-model leadership with residents.

Night Care Leader

Location:Westbury

Pay rate: £16.90ph Mon-Fri, £17.30ph weekends

Contracted hours:30.63 hours per week

Shift pattern: 3x 12.25 hour shifts 7:45pm to 8am, including every other weekend

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our care teams make a real difference every day and your professionalism, teamed with kindness and compassion, will be at the core of everything you do. Leading a small team of carers, you’ll be responsible for keeping wakeful watch on the security and safety of our residents and the home in general. You’ll ensure that care plans are regularly reviewed, understanding the importance of maintaining accurate records, and will be able to manage the time of both yourself and your team effectively to support the wellbeing of our residents. You’ll understand that some shifts might be challenging, but you’ll also laugh, have fun and make lasting memories with our residents.

Nestled below the famous White Horse, the historic market town of Westbury is home to Watersmead. This well-established care home is a traditional build which is perfectly located in a residential location, close to local amenities. A long-standing asset to the local community, Watersmead offers compassionate, person-centred residential, dementia and respite care for up to 50 residents.

ABOUT YOU

You’ll have NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care, or you’ve achieved NVQ Level 2, and you’re prepared to study for NVQ Level 3. You’ll also be experienced in leading a team to deliver care, be keen to progress to a role with greater levels of responsibility and be willing to undertake relevant training to support your career development in a nurturing, engaging and rewarding environment.

You’ll be a positive role model, with excellent communication skills and a natural ability to get along with others. A supportive leader, you’ll motivate your team to deliver the best possible care to our residents at all times.
