Job summary

The Orders of St John Care Trust is seeking a Night Care Leader in Melksham. You will lead a small night-time care team, monitor safety and residents’ wellbeing, and ensure care plans are reviewed and records maintained to high standards.

The role offers night shifts, weekend rotation, and a competitive pay rate, with non-profit benefits and opportunities for development within the Trust.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care or NVQ Level 2 with willingness to study for Level 3.
• Proven experience leading a carer team and delivering care with empathy.

Night Care Leader

Location:Melksham

Pay rate: £16.90ph Mon-Fri, £17.30ph weekends

Contracted hours: 36.75 hours per week

Shift pattern: 3x shifts per week, 7:45pm to 8am, including every other weekend

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our care teams make a real difference every day and your professionalism, teamed with kindness and compassion, will be at the core of everything you do. Leading a small team of carers, you’ll be responsible for keeping wakeful watch on the security and safety of our residents and the home in general. You’ll ensure that care plans are regularly reviewed, understanding the importance of maintaining accurate records, and will be able to manage the time of both yourself and your team effectively to support the wellbeing of our residents. You’ll understand that some shifts might be challenging, but you’ll also laugh, have fun and make lasting memories with our residents.

Brookside Care Home is an established care home in Melksham and has been serving the local and wider Wiltshire community for over 40 years. It offers compassionate, individualised residential care for up to 50 residents.

ABOUT YOU

You’ll have NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care, or you’ve achieved NVQ Level 2, and you’re prepared to study for NVQ Level 3. You’ll also be experienced in leading a team to deliver care, be keen to progress to a role with greater levels of responsibility and be willing to undertake relevant training to support your career development in a nurturing, engaging and rewarding environment.

You’ll be a positive role model, with excellent communication skills and a natural ability to get along with others. A supportive leader, you’ll motivate your team to deliver the best possible care to our residents at all times.
