Job summary

St Elizabeth’s Centre in Hertfordshire is seeking a Night Care Assistant for our Children’s Home, working 44 hours per week on a 4 nights on/4 nights off pattern (8:15pm–7:15am). Salary £28,105–£29,186 depending on experience, with full training provided.

The role focuses on personal care, wellbeing monitoring, and creating a calm night-time environment. You will join a supportive team delivering child-centric care for ages 5–19, following care and safeguarding plans.

Qualifications

• Experience in care is welcomed but not essential — training provided.
• Able to provide personal care with dignity and maintain wellbeing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred care during the night, including personal care and health monitoring.
• Respond calmly and effectively to incidents, illness, or distress.
• Support with cleaning, laundry, and general housekeeping duties to maintain a safe environment.
• Maintain accurate written records and care logs.
• Work with education, healthcare, and therapy colleagues as part of the team.
• Follow individual care plans and safeguarding procedures.
