Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a person-centered approach to all residents
• Support care plan needs and update care plans and risk assessments when required
• Follow company policies, procedures and safe working practices
• Assist residents with dressing, bathing, toileting and mobility
• Help with incontinence care and use of aids
• Care for residents who are temporarily unwell or require minor dressings
• Support residents who are dying and promote mental and physical activity
• Make beds, tidy rooms, serve meals, and assist with meals as needed
• Answer bells, greet visitors, and participate in team/residents meetings and training

Night Care Assistant - Chollacott House: Our lovely home in Tavistock, is looking for a Night Care Assistant.

We look for people who behave in a positive manner at all times, putting the best interests of the residents in their care at the heart of all that they do.

Rate of pay: £13.17 - £13.42 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

• To promote and maintain a person centered care approach to all service users that allows them to
• To promote and maintain the needs of each service user as set out in their care plan
• To take part in the review or update of any service user care plans and risk assessments if required
• To have a good working knowledge of the companies policies, procedures and safe working practices and follow them accordingly
• Assist residents who need help with dressing, undressing, bathing and toileting.
• Help residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including incontinence; help in the use aids, care of aids and personal equipment.
• Care for residents temporarily sick and needing, for example, minor dressings, bed nursing.
• Help care for residents who are dying.
• Help in the promotion of mental and physical activity of residents through talking to them, taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreation.
• Make and change beds; tidy rooms and keep everything clean
• Inspect, launder and mend residents' clothing.
• Set tables and trays; serve meals; feed residents who need help; prepare light meals and wash up; tidy and clean the dining room.
• Answer emergency bells, the door and the telephone; greet visitors.
• Read and write reports; take part in care team and residents' meetings and in training activities as directed.Such other duties as may reasonably be required.

Person Specification - Skills And Qualifications

• Previous experience in a care home, hospital, or similar kitchen environment is desirable but not essential
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines

• Compassionate and patient nature, with a genuine interest in improving the lives of older or vulnerable people
