Job summary

Belong is seeking a Night Care Assistant to join our village-style care home in Wigan. You will work with other staff to provide personal and practical care, ensuring high standards of service for residents and their families.

Shifts are 10pm–8am, 19.5 hours per week, with a pay rate of £13.45 per hour. A supportive induction and ongoing training are offered in a not-for-profit, values-driven environment.

• Previous experience in elderly care settings preferred.

• Dependable and flexible to meet residents’ needs.

Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity for a Night Care Assistant to join our team in Belong Wigan.

About the Role

As a care assistant, you will work together with other staff in the running of the household. You will aim to maintain high standards of care and service towards customers, relatives, visitors and other members of staff. You will be providing a range of personal and practical care to our residents.

Pay: £13.45 p/h

Shifts: 10pm - 8am Nights

Hours per week: 19.5 hour per week

Duties and Responsibilities

• Demonstrate compassion, empathy and a person-centred approach to caring for older people
• Self-motivated, resilient and well-organised
• Able to work well under pressure and flexible to meet the needs of the residents and the household
• Provide assistance, personal care, activities and companionship to residents
• Be alert to residents' needs, health and wellbeing
• Respect the residents' dignity and privacy
• Work with residents and their families to deliver tailored care to each individual
• Assist with mealtimes and safe moving
• Maintain accurate records for each resident

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience working within an elderly care setting
• Team player but able to work on your own initiative
• Dependable, able to work well under pressure and flexible to meet the needs of the Home
• A minimum of a NVQ level 2 in health & social care or the Care Certificate along with a dedicated passion for providing exceptional care for our night team roles
