Job summary

NHS Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is offering a fixed-term 24-month apprenticeship to train as a Pharmacy Technician at Glan Clwyd Hospital in Bodelwyddan. The role will begin at 70% of Band 4 and progress to 75% after 12 months, with a full-time 37.5 hour week and weekend/bank holiday work.

You will undertake Level 4 HE in Pharmacy Technician Practice via UEA and aim to register with the GPhC. Training includes hospital dispensing, medicines management and ward-based duties.

Qualifications

• GCSE requirements to register on the apprenticeship.
• In-depth understanding of medicines safety and handling.
• Willingness to travel between health board sites and attend off-site study days.

Responsibilities

• Assist in dispensing for in-patients and out-patients.
• Support medicines management and medicines optimisation processes.
• Engage in purchasing and distribution tasks.
• Rotate through wards and GP/community settings as part of training programme.
