Job summary

The post is a 24-month fixed-term apprenticeship training contract with Glan Clwyd Hospital. You will gain the experience and qualification required to register as a pharmacy technician with the GPhC and to apply for posts as a pharmacy technician afterwards.

You will undertake a Welsh Government HEIW-delivered Modern Apprenticeship and study for the Level 4 Certificate of Higher Education in Pharmacy Technician Practice at the University of East Anglia.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship training for 24 months leading to GPhC registration.
• Must complete Level 4 HE in Pharmacy Technician Practice.
• GCSEs including English, Maths and Science.
• Welsh Government Modern Apprenticeship delivered via HEIW (Health Education and Improvement Wales).
• Post based at Glan Clwyd Hospital with rotational training across sites and travel between health board sites.

Responsibilities

• Learn dispensing for in-patients and out-patients.
• Assist with Purchasing and Distribution.
• Ward-based work and medicines management support.
• Attend off-site study days and build a portfolio of evidence.
• Meet GPhC Standards for Pharmacy Professionals during training.
