Job summary

Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust in Stanmore invites applications for a Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician (PTPT). The role combines hands-on training with a two-year apprenticeship to gain NVQ and register with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician.

The trainee will be paid 70% of the top of Band 4 in year 1 (£25,827.40 per annum including HCAS) and 75% of the top in year 2, with a blended learning approach including one day weekly virtual study and workplace assessments.

Qualifications

• Be able to produce certificates at interview to evidence a minimum of 5 GCSEs grade C or above in Maths, English and Science.
• Have the right to live and work in the UK, sponsorship cannot be offered.
• Undertake enrolment activities, leading to a successful offer to study.
• Commit to study the full apprenticeship programme.
• Attendance of training at the associated HEI is essential.
• Failure to complete any aspect of the academic components within the set time scale will result in removal from the course and may impact on your ability to continue in the training post.

Responsibilities

• Provide dispensary-based patient services to inpatients and outpatients.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-focused medicines optimisation through timely supply of medicines and medicines counselling.
• Participate in medicines optimisation, ward top-up and ward-based dispensing.
