Job summary

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 Estates Engineer for the NHS Estates team. You will lead the maintenance of hospital engineering systems, manage staff, and coordinate contracted services to ensure reliable, compliant building services.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical or electrical building services, with 3+ years of relevant experience, and a degree or equivalent qualification.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in mechanical or electrical building services operations and maintenance.
• Understanding of LOLER vertical transportation; Electricity at Work Regulations; HTM.
• Educated to degree level or hold a relevant qualification with experience.
• Full driving licence and professional membership.
• Effective communication and supervision in a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Manage the engineering maintenance section and supervise staff resources.
• Oversee on-call service and emergency response 24/7.
• Procure services and goods with best value; monitor budgets and audit trails.
• Ensure properties and building services meet statutory guidelines and DOH standards.
• Coordinate with clinical/management staff to maintain service delivery.
