Job summary

You will contribute to safeguarding, maintain accurate records, participate in meetings and audits, and support quality improvement initiatives such as QOF targets.

Responsibilities

• Provide a full range of NHS general medical services to registered patients.
• Undertake face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses.
• Prescribe safely and appropriately in accordance with national and local guidelines.
• Make appropriate referrals to secondary care and community services.
• Manage home visits where clinically appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records using the practice clinical system.
• Participate in safeguarding procedures for vulnerable adults and children.
• Support continuity of care and patient-centred decision making.
• Work closely with the dispensary team to promote safe and cost-effective prescribing.
• Ensure compliance with dispensing regulations and prescribing governance.
• Assist with medication reviews and repeat prescribing processes.
• Support medicines optimisation initiatives within the practice.
• Contribute to the safe management of dispensary-related clinical queries.
• Work collaboratively with GP partners, nursing staff, pharmacists, administrative staff, and allied healthcare professionals.
• Participate in clinical meetings, significant event reviews, and practice audits.
• Contribute to quality improvement activities and achievement of QOF and enhanced services targets.
• Support training and mentoring of medical students, GP registrars, or other learners where appropriate.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of practice policies and procedures.
