Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for a Newborn Hearing Screener to join the Newborn Hearing Screening team in Manchester. The role involves delivering high-quality screening in maternity units, supporting families, and progressing through a Level 3 Diploma for Health Screeners.

The post is 30 hours per week with weekend/bank holiday enhancements, based primarily at Wythenshawe Maternity Hospital, with potential occasional site moves and light outpatient support.

Formación

• Experience working with public, especially parents and babies.
• Computer literate and able to handle clinical databases.
• Willingness to undertake Level 3 Diploma for Health Screeners.

Responsabilidades

• Identify all newborn babies requiring screening and ensure the Newborn Hearing Screen is offered.
• Communicate effectively with parents/carers, providing clear information about the screening programme.
• Obtain informed consent per national and local protocols.
• Carry out hearing screening in maternity units and clinics using specialised equipment.
• Record data in the Smart4Hearing database and EMIS as required.
