Job summary

Public Health Wales is seeking a dedicated practitioner for the newborn hearing screening programme in the South East Wales region. Base at University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, with duties across hospital and community settings and regular travel between sites.

The role requires excellent communication, computer literacy and the ability to work under pressure within a full-time 37.5 hour week that includes a 4-hour Saturday morning shift. Level 3 Accredited Learning is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication with parents throughout the process.
• Experience using a computer.
• Confident, reliable and able to work under pressure.
• Willingness to travel between sites within South Wales region.

Responsibilities

• Conduct newborn hearing screening in hospital and community settings.
• Communicate with parents and record results accurately.
• Travel regularly between South Wales hospital sites.
• Assist with baby handling and use of screening equipment.
• Work a 37.5 hour week with a Saturday morning shift.
