GI Group Main Account in the United Kingdom is recruiting for Class 1 Driver roles in Ryton-on-Dunsmore. Trainees will complete 2–3 days of on-site driver training followed by a final assessment, then progress into ongoing work with the client.

Standard pay during weeks 1–12 is Days £20.21, Nights £20.50 per hour (holiday pay included, PAYE only). After 12 weeks, Days £20.50 and Nights £21.05 with overtime at 1.5x after the 6th consecutive shift.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence, Driver CPC, and Digital Tachograph card.
• Open to newly qualified and inexperienced drivers (on-site training provided).
• Minimum age of 21 for insurance purposes.
• Maximum of 6 penalty points (SP endorsements only; no other endorsement types accepted).
• Must provide a full 2-year work or education history.
• Calm under pressure, flexible, with strong customer service, communication, and attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Load, unload, and secure freight safely.
• Complete scheduled deliveries and collections across varied parcel weights.
• Ensure accurate completion of all delivery documentation.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and report any defects immediately.
• Work efficiently to meet timed delivery schedules.
• Deliveries may include alcohol products.

Pay Rate: £20.21 - £21.05 per hour (plus 1.5x overtime rate)

Class 1 Driver - Training:

• Our client in Ryton-on-Dunsmore is opening a driving school for new and inexperienced Class 1 drivers
• Candidates will complete 2 to 3 days of driver training followed by a final assessment
• Upon successful completion of the assessment, candidates will move into ongoing work with our client
• Please note: all training days are unpaid

Class 1 Driver - Rates of Pay: Standard Rate (Weeks 1-12):

• Days (04:00 - 22:00): £20.21 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay, PAYE only)
• Nights (22:00 - 04:00): £20.50 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay, PAYE only)

Post-12 Weeks:

• Days: £20.50 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay, PAYE only)
• Nights: £21.05 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay, PAYE only)
• Overtime: 1.5x for your 6th consecutive shift

Class 1 Driver - Shifts and Hours:

• Shifts available 7 days a week
• Afternoon start windows: 12:00 - 14:00
• Shifts run between 8 and 12 hours per day

Class 1 Driver - The Role:
