Job summary

Gi Group is recruiting a Class 1 Driver for a Northampton site (NN4) on an ongoing temporary basis. The role involves store deliveries, trunking work and conducting thorough vehicle checks to ensure compliance.

You must hold a valid UK Class 1 licence with CPC and Digi/Driver Card, have at least two years of Class 1 experience, and be available on weekends. Pay ranges from £20.49 to £25.77 per hour, with increased peak-rate opportunities during specified periods.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years Class 1 licence and 2 years Class 1 driving experience.
• Valid UK Driver Cards (Digi Card/CPC).
• Max 6 penalty points (no DR, CD or DD).
• Weekend availability essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out store deliveries and trunking work.
• Conduct vehicle checks and maintain tachograph records.
• Manage WTD and Driving Hours to meet compliance.
• Act as a professional brand representative at stores.

Contract: Ongoing Temporary (Year-round stability)

Earnings: From £20.49ph up to £25.77ph

Join Gi Group supporting one of the UK's biggest Logistics clients as a Class 1 Driver, based in Northampton.

Role & Responsibilities :

• Various work, store deliveries, drinks and trunking work
• Conducting thorough vehicle checks and maintaining accurate digital tachograph records.
• Ability to manage your Working Time Directive, and Driving Hours rules and Regulations in order to meet compliance expectations, and avoid infringement
• Acting as a professional face of the brand when arriving at stores

• Daily and Weekly Bookings
• Varius start times Days, Afternoons and Nights
• Full time and part time opportunities

Class 1 Driver Requirements

• Valid UK Driver Cards (Driving Licence, CPC and DIGI Cards)
• Minimum 2 years Class 1 licence + 2 years Class 1 driving experience
• Previous experience in store deliveries would be preferred, but is not essential
• Max 6 penalty points accepted for minor offences (no DR, CD or DD offences)
• Availability to work weekends is essential for this 24/7 operation
• Will have the ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills, as well as an attention to detail
