Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a GCSE Tutor to support children and young people in the SO40 area through personalised 1:1 tuition. You will work on behalf of Local Authorities to deliver tailored educational support, helping learners prepare for GCSEs and close gaps while building confidence.

Applicants should have GCSE-related tutoring experience in English, Maths, Science or other GCSE subjects, with strong communication and a learner-centred approach.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience delivering tuition or teaching in an educational setting.
• Experience teaching or tutoring at GCSE level.
• Strong subject knowledge in your specialist area.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons.
• Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Patient, adaptable, and learner-focused approach.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Driver preferred; travel locally within the SO40 area.

Support Students Working Towards GCSE Success

We're looking for a GCSE Tutor to support children and young people in the SO40 area through personalised 1:1 tuition.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll provide tailored educational support to learners who require alternative provision. Many of the students we work with are preparing for GCSE qualifications and benefit from a tutor who can build confidence, close learning gaps, and help them achieve positive outcomes.

We're keen to hear from tutors with experience in English, Maths, Science, Humanities, or other GCSE subjects.

Hours: Flexible

Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour
