Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking GCSE English & Maths tutors to support learners in the DT7 area with personalised 1:1 tuition. You will work on behalf of Local Authorities to help students build confidence, close learning gaps and achieve GCSE outcomes.

We require at least 6 months' experience in an educational setting, strong GCSE knowledge, and the ability to plan engaging sessions. An Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one is preferred; drivers or willingness to travel

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting (tutoring, teaching, TA, mentoring)
• Strong knowledge of GCSE English and/or Maths
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, personalised sessions
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Driver preferred or willing to travel locally within the DT7 area

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 GCSE English and Maths tutoring to learners in the DT7 area
• Develop individual learning plans to close gaps and build confidence
• Tailor sessions to SEND/EHCPs or additional needs where appropriate
• Support learners to work towards GCSE qualifications and improved attainment

GCSE English & Maths Tutors - DT7 Area

Make a Real Difference to Young People in Your Local Area

We're looking for GCSE English and Maths Tutors to support children and young people in the DT7 area through personalised 1:1 tuition.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll provide tailored support to learners who require alternative educational provision. Many of the students we support are working towards their GCSEs and need additional support to build confidence, close gaps in learning, and achieve positive outcomes.

Due to increasing demand in the area, we are looking for tutors who can start as soon as possible.

Location: DT7 Area

Subjects: GCSE English & Maths

Hours: Flexible

Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour

Type: 1:1 Tuition

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
• Strong knowledge of GCSE English and/or Maths
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, personalised sessions
• Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Patient, adaptable, and positive approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally within the DT7 area
