Job summary

MD2 Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Registered Manager for a new children’s residential home in Peterborough. Salary £55-65k, location Peterborough, home not yet Ofsted registered. You will lead preparation for registration, shape the service culture, recruit a team and establish high standards of care from the outset.

This role focuses on building a child-centred service, implementing safeguarding and policy frameworks, and ensuring readiness for Ofsted inspection as the home opens.

Qualifications

• Experience in a management or leadership role within children's residential care.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted expectations and the Children's Homes Quality Standards.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of the home for Ofsted registration and opening.
• Establish safeguarding procedures and working practices.
• Recruit, support and develop a staff team.
• Create a safe, nurturing environment for a child or young person.
• Oversee care planning, risk assessments and placement preparation.
• Build relationships with families, social workers and professionals.
• Manage day-to-day running once registered and operational.
• Monitor quality of care and drive continuous improvement.
