Berry Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced New Business Development Manager to join their growing team in Southampton. You will identify and pursue new business leads, develop proposals and work towards sales targets while building strong client relationships.

This role requires a service-industry background, excellent negotiation and presentation skills, and the ability to forecast costs and plan projects. Local area knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous sales or business development experience within a service industry.
• Strong understanding of market forces and business systems.
• Proven track record of meeting sales targets.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and networking skills.
• Strong presentation skills, including Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Good knowledge of project planning and management.
• Ability to understand and use financial information for costings and forecasting.
• Excellent research, planning and organisational skills.
• Strong time management and prioritisation.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Local area knowledge is essential.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop and follow up new business leads and opportunities.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
• Prepare quotes, costed proposals, presentations and sales materials.
• Negotiate and re-negotiate contracts and proposals with clients.
• Work with internal departments to identify opportunities within existing accounts.
• Attend networking and industry events to generate new leads.
• Research market trends to identify opportunities for growth.
