Allianz UK is seeking a New Business Construction Underwriter to support profitable growth within the Allianz Commercial team. Hybrid role based in Southampton or Chelmsford, with 2–3 days in the office and regular broker meetings.

The role requires underwriting construction risks, pricing, building broker relationships and contributing to regional strategies. Salary circa £50,000, dependent on experience and location.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our expert-led Allianz Commercial team as a New Business Construction Underwriter, playing a key role in delivering profitable growth.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our expert-led Allianz Commercial team as a New Business Construction Underwriter, playing a key role in delivering profitable growth. You will support the development of a world-class, multi-niche Insurance & Engineering offering, contributing to ambitious regional growth targets.

Location: This role is based in either our Southampton or Chelmsford offices, please note that this is a hybrid working role with the expectation that you attend the office 2-3 days per week, as well as meeting with brokers.

Salary Information

Pay: Circa £50,000 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

About You

• Underwrite construction risks across new business to meet growth and profitability targets
• Assess and price risk in line with Allianz appetite and underwriting strategy
• Build and maintain strong broker and client relationships through regular engagement
