Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust invites applications for a Teaching Fellow (ST3+) in Neurology. The post combines specialist neurology training with outpatient and inpatient clinical care, registrar on-call duties, and a dedicated role in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.

This fixed-term post is aimed at individuals who have completed core training and seek to pursue a higher career in medical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe and high standard of care of all patients
• Participate in the running of the department/ward
• Provide clinical supervision of Junior doctors on medical wards &/or in the on-call team
• Provide senior medical input for the on-call Medical Team (especially Out of Hours) and potentially lead the cardiac arrest team
• Assist with achieving the DOH Clinical Quality Indicators
• Deliver teaching sessions for medical students and junior doctors.
• Provide bedside teaching, tutorials, case-based discussions and simulation sessions.
• Support the development of educational resources and teaching programmes.
• Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.
