Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a SEND Tutor for a post-16 provision in Doncaster. The role focuses on supporting learners aged 16+ with Autism/ASD, Learning Disabilities and challenging behaviours, adapting sessions to individual needs and encouraging education, confidence and independence.

The position is long-term with both full-time and part-time opportunities starting ASAP. Successful candidates will join a dedicated team and benefit from competitive pay and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience supporting young people aged 16+ with SEND.
• Experience working with Autism / ASD and Learning Disabilities / LD.
• Experience supporting young people who may display behaviours that challenge.
• The ability to adapt learning and support to individual needs.
• A patient, resilient and understanding approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Support learners aged 16+ with SEND in a post-16 education setting.
• Adapt sessions and approaches to meet individual needs.
• Work collaboratively with staff to monitor progress and wellbeing.
• Maintain safeguarding, risk assessment and inclusive practice in all sessions.
