Job summary

Phoenix Learning & Care Group is seeking a Higher Learning Support Assistant to support neurodiverse learners aged 16+ at Oakwood Specialist College, Yate. You will help deliver personalised learning, life skills, and work experience in a small-class setting, within a term-time schedule and 37.5 hours per week.

The role emphasizes safeguarding, strong communication, and a genuine interest in education for neurodiverse learners, with opportunities for development and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Patience, compassion and resilience when supporting learners with autism/ADHD.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for updating learner plans.

Responsibilities

• Assist teaching staff in classroom activities, planning, teaching and assessment; complete incident logs and paperwork.
• Line-manage LSAs, oversee development and policy compliance.
• Engage learners to stay motivated and reach goals, either 1:1 or in small groups.
• Champion safeguarding and health & safety to support learner outcomes.
