Are you passionate about protecting the environment and working directly with people to drive real change?

We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing Environmental Performance Team as a Network Protection Investigator.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working independently while being part of a supportive team.

You’ll be at the heart of making our networks cleaner and safer, helping customers, communities, and the environment thrive.

This role covers the Beddington and Hogsmill area.

  • This is a Monday to Friday position (36 hrs) and some evening visits will be required; however, it is also a flexible role where working hours can be accommodated.

What will you be doing as a Network Protection Investigator?

  • By working with customers, you will actively be part of reducing blockages, sewage flooding and pollution; protecting our network, customers, and the environment alike.
  • Within this role, you will be the sole worker for your area.
  • As a Network Protection Investigator, you will work closely with our customers to support and educate them in grease management and the correct disposal of waste.
  • You will visit and engage with them daily on best kitchen practice to stop the misuse of drains and prevent further 'Fatbergs' from forming.

What should you bring to the role?

  • Experience of working with and managing diverse customer relationships.
  • Be a confident and persuasive communicator at all levels, both written and verbal.
  • Be a dedicated person who can work alone effectively, managing your own time to deliver results.
  • Be a team player who can work towards a team objective whilst managing your workload remotely. This will involve being collaborative and supportive in your approach to work.
  • Ability to use an Android Smartphone and basic knowledge of MS Office with training provided.
  • Desirable knowledge of the sewer network is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
  • Due to the nature of the role, a clean driving license is essential as the post will work across several areas in the region. A company vehicle will be provided.

What’s in it for you?

  • Competitive salary of up to £31,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
  • Company vehicle for business use only and a fuel card.
  • Annual Leave - 24 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 with the length of service.
  • Generous Paternity Leave, including 4 weeks paid and an optional 2 weeks unpaid.
  • Enhanced Maternity Leave, 26 weeks full pay and 13 weeks half pay!
  • Access to many benefits to help you take care of your and your family’s health and well-being, and your finances – from annual health MOTs and access to physiotherapy and counselling to Cycle to Work schemes, shopping vouchers and life assurance.
