Job summary

Energy Assets is seeking a Network Operative to support inspection, maintenance and operation of our electricity distribution network across the UK. You will work both independently and with experienced colleagues, learning specialist skills to become a Network Engineer while contributing to safe, planned maintenance and fault response.

The role offers full training, a structured development pathway, and the chance to advance within a growing utilities team.

Qualifications

  • Recognised electrical qualification (or relevant electrical experience).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Good fault-finding and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn and strong health and safety commitment.
  • Desirable: experience in electricity distribution or utilities.
  • Electrical installation or maintenance experience (advantage).

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out inspections of LV electricity network assets.
  • Supporting maintenance of substations, underground cable networks and associated equipment.
  • Identifying and reporting network defects.
  • Installing monitoring equipment.
  • Assisting with fault response and network restoration.
  • Supporting planned maintenance and connection works.
  • Assisting with cable jointing activities under the supervision of experienced Network Engineers.
  • Producing inspection reports and technical documentation.
  • Working safely in accordance with company procedures and industry regulations.
  • Participating in an on-call rota following training.
