Job summary

Severn Trent is recruiting a Network Logistics Operative based in Leicester to support essential construction work. You will transport materials and equipment, drive HGV Grab lorries, and help deliver usable materials while supporting service laying.

The role runs 42 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am–4:30pm, with early finish on Fridays. We value safety, efficiency and a customer‑focused approach in a inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Class 2 driving licence with CE preferred.
• Experience driving HGVs, especially Grab lorries.
• HIAB (Grab) qualification or working towards it.
• NRSWA Operative qualification or equivalent.
• Knowledge of digital tachograph and working time regs.
• Strong customer service when moving plant, tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Safely transporting materials, plant and equipment to/from construction sites.
• Drive logistics vehicles, predominantly HGV Grab lorries.
• Remove waste/spoil and deliver usable materials.
• Support construction activities including service laying.

We’re investing £415m to replace 870 miles of old water pipes across the Midlands, improving water quality, reducing leaks and making supplies more reliable.

As a Network Logistics Operative based in Leicester, you’ll help make that happen by safely transporting materials, plant and equipment to and from construction sites. You’ll drive logistics vehicles, predominantly HGV Grab lorries, remove waste and spoil, deliver usable materials and support construction activities including service laying.

You’ll work 42 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm, finishing at 4:00pm on Fridays.

You’ll Need

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Class 2 driving licence, minimum category C, preferably CE, and an HGV qualification or be working towards this
• Experience driving HGVs, particularly Grab lorries
• Utility and/or construction industry experience
• HIAB (Grab) qualification and NRSWA Operative
• Knowledge of digital tachograph and driving/working time regulations
• Good customer service skills and experience transporting plant, tools and equipment
