Job summary

IntaPeople in West Wales is seeking a permanent, full-time Senior Network & Infrastructure Engineer to design, maintain and improve enterprise network environments on-site. You will shape infrastructure strategy, drive project delivery and uphold operational excellence in a technically strong IT function.

The role focuses on LAN, WAN, WLAN and VPN design, high availability and security. It offers hands-on leadership, mentorship of junior staff and opportunities to work with modern technologies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing large-scale enterprise network environments.
• Strong understanding of routing and core network protocols including TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP.
• Deep knowledge of network security principles and technologies.
• Experience with firewalls, VPNs and encryption standards.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere.
• Strong Windows Server administration experience.
• Exposure to containerisation technologies would be beneficial.
• ITIL certification or framework exposure.

Responsibilities

• Designing and maintaining enterprise-level network architecture including LAN, WAN, WLAN and VPN.
• Ensuring high availability, performance and scalability across network services.
• Troubleshooting and resolving complex network and infrastructure issues.
• Managing and configuring network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers.
• Leading infrastructure upgrades, migrations and improvement projects.
• Implementing secure remote access solutions using VPN, IPsec, SSL/TLS and SSH.
• Managing network security controls including firewall policies, IDS/IPS, encryption and PKI.
• Monitoring network performance, capacity and security, identifying opportunities for optimisation.
• Supporting disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• Managing patching, system updates and configuration backups.
• Producing and maintaining technical documentation.
• Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
• Supporting incident response and participating in on-call support where required.
