Job summary

Digital Waffle is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to maintain and improve a large enterprise network centred on Cisco technologies, with strong Microsoft infrastructure and VMware expertise to support the wider IT estate.

The role covers BAU support, project delivery and senior escalation, with responsibilities spanning network upgrades, server migrations and technology refreshes in a large enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' commercial experience supporting enterprise infrastructure.
• Strong hands-on Cisco networking experience, including routing & switching, MPLS and VRF.
• CCNA and/or CCNP level networking knowledge (certification or equivalent commercial experience).
• Strong experience with Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS & DHCP, Microsoft 365.
• VMware administration experience and storage technologies (SAN/NAS).
• PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Experience working within ITIL environments and robust troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, support and maintain enterprise Cisco network infrastructure.
• Configure and troubleshoot routing, switching, MPLS and VRF technologies.
• Administer and support Microsoft Windows Server environments and AD/GP/DNS/DHCP.
• Manage and maintain Microsoft 365 services, Entra ID and Intune where required.
• Administer VMware virtual infrastructure and perform upgrades/migrations.
• Deliver infrastructure and network projects including server upgrades and platform improvements.
• Act as senior escalation point for networking and infrastructure issues.
• Produce technical documentation and follow ITIL best practices.

We're looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a well-established organisation with a large-scale enterprise environment. This role is heavily focused on Cisco networking, while also requiring strong Microsoft infrastructure and VMware expertise to support the wider IT estate.

The Role

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining, supporting and improving a large enterprise network alongside the wider Microsoft infrastructure environment. You'll provide 3rd line support, lead technical projects and act as a senior escalation point for complex networking and infrastructure issues.

You'll work across both BAU support and project delivery, including network upgrades, server migrations, Microsoft infrastructure improvements, VMware upgrades and technology refreshes.
