Job summary

Bright Purple Resourcing is seeking an experienced network professional to design, implement and support secure enterprise networks across LAN, WAN, wireless and VPN. You will own firewall, switch, router and access point configurations, monitor performance with SolarWinds/PRTG, and act as the senior escalation point for network incidents, including remote locations.

The role requires strong communication, documentation habits and a proactive, collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver robust, secure network solutions across LAN, WAN, wireless and VPN.
  • Own the configuration and upkeep of firewalls, switches, routers and access points across the estate.
  • Monitor uptime, bandwidth and latency using SolarWinds or PRTG and resolve bottlenecks proactively.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for network incidents, including remote locations.
  • Harden the environment through VLAN design, firewall rule management, intrusion detection and patching.
  • Produce and maintain network diagrams, IP records and configuration documentation.
  • Support wider infrastructure including Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, VMware/Hyper-V, backups.
  • Contribute networking expertise to projects, upgrades and migrations, delivering third-line support to the business.

Requirements
  • We are looking for a seasoned network professional with a strong track record across enterprise environments.
  • We need deep practical knowledge of routing, switching, firewall and wireless technologies.
  • We want someone comfortable with monitoring tools and well-versed in network security fundamentals.
  • We require enough systems administration experience to support servers, virtualisation and backups when needed.
  • We are looking for a proactive person who identifies improvements and speaks up.
