Job summary

Cheshire East Council’s Digital Services team is seeking a Network Engineer on a full-time basis (37 hours per week) to maintain and enhance the Council's network infrastructure. You will design, implement, support and continuously improve voice, data, video and wireless networks, managing LANs and WANs, troubleshooting issues and delivering infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in design, implementation, management and support of LAN/WAN environments.
• Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving network incidents and performing proactive monitoring.
• Strong knowledge of routing, switching, wireless networking and network security principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel between Council offices and partner sites.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, support and continuously improve the Council's voice, data, video and wireless networks.
• Manage and support LANs and WANs; troubleshoot complex issues and optimise network performance.
