Job summary

Derbyshire Constabulary is seeking a Network Engineer to develop, implement and maintain the force network infrastructure and operating systems. You will ensure reliable, secure connectivity for all force users and drive improvements across the network.

You will be responsible for routine configuration, installation and removal of network hardware and software, and for proposing security enhancements to protect the network.

Qualifications

• Cisco CCNA or equivalent certification is required.
• Proven experience managing an enterprise network with diagnostic tools, TCP/IP, and security.
• Education to HND level or an equivalent qualification or relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the force network infrastructure and OSs to improve facilities for force users.
• Carry out routine configuration, reconfiguration, installation and removal of network hardware and software.
• Innovate and configure security solutions to protect the force network.
• Act as a standby 24/7 on-call point of contact and perform duties outside normal hours.
