Job summary

Derbyshire Constabulary is seeking a Network Engineer to maintain and improve the force network, delivering secure and reliable network solutions for daily operations.

You will develop, implement and support network infrastructure, operate configuring hardware/software, and drive security improvements on a 24/7 standby basis. Cisco CCNA certification and enterprise networking experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have Cisco CCNA or equivalent certification.
• Experience managing an enterprise network, diagnostic tools, TCP/IP, enterprise firewalls, enterprise switches and routers, and enterprise wireless.
• Education to HND level or equivalent qualification or work-related experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the force network infrastructure and network operating systems to improve facilities for force users.
• Carry out routine configuration, reconfiguration, installation and removal of network hardware and software.
• Innovate, propose, implement and configure security solutions to protect the force network.
• Act as a single point of contact as part of a standby rota on a 24/7 basis and perform duties outside normal working hours.

What you'll be doing

• You will carry out routine configuration, reconfiguration, installation and removal of network hardware and software.
• You will innovate, propose, implement and configure security solutions to ensure the protection of the force network.
• You will act as a single point of contact as part of a standby rota on a 24/7 basis and perform duties outside normal working hours.

The must haves

• You must have a Cisco CCNA or equivalent certification.
• You must have proven experience of managing an enterprise network, diagnostic tools, TCP/IP, enterprise firewalls, enterprise data switches and routers and enterprise level wireless network.
• You must be educated to HND level or equivalent qualification work related experience.
