Severn Trent Plc in the United Kingdom is seeking a Network Construction Operative to help deliver our mains renewal programme at a designated site within one of our four regions. You will work in a six-person team to carry out excavation, installation, testing and commissioning of new water mains, assets, customer supply pipes and boundary boxes, while protecting water supplies and minimizing disruption.

You’ll work 42 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm, finishing at 4:00pm on

Qualifications

• Full driving licence is required.
• Significant experience in the utilities industry.
• National Water Hygiene and NRSWA qualifications preferred.

Responsabilités

As a Network Construction Operative, you’ll help deliver our mains renewal programme for a specific site within one of our 4 regions (North, South, East and West). Providing reliable water supplies while keeping disruption to our customers to a minimum.

Working as part of a team of six, you’ll carry out large-scale construction activities including excavation, installation, testing and commissioning of new water mains, assets, customer supply pipes and boundary boxes. You’ll identify and manage hazards, maintain customer access and water supplies, and use trenchless solutions where possible to reduce disruption.

You’ll work 42 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm, finishing at 4:00pm on Fridays. Standby is also required.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You’ll need:

• A full driving licence


• Significant experience working in the utilities industry


• Ideally, National Water Hygiene and NRSWA qualifications


• Good communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
