Job summary

BT Group in Ipswich is recruiting a Network Cloud Engineering Professional 2 to monitor and manage BT’s UK platforms 24/7. You will work in Network Operations across Ethernet, IP networks, and evolving cloud environments, collaborating with field engineers and suppliers.

You’ll diagnose faults, lead incidents, and drive improvements while following security standards. The role includes on-site shifts at Adastral Park and opportunities to mentor colleagues and shape how we operate with new

Qualifications

• Networks and cloud experience in enterprise environments.
• Solid understanding of Linux (Ubuntu).
• Strong knowledge of IP networking and SDN concepts.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve faults across Linux, OpenStack and SDN environments.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance across tenant platforms.
• Support tenant onboarding, testing and day-to-day operations.
• Take ownership of incidents from start to finish, ensuring fast and effective resolution.
• Lead complex or high-impact incidents, making key technical decisions.
• Keep customers and stakeholders updated with clear, timely communications.
• Proactively monitor services using OSS tools to spot and fix issues early.
• Manage supplier escalations and drive timely resolutions.
• Maintain accurate documentation, processes and incident notes.
• Work closely with teams across Design, Build, Operations and suppliers to resolve issues.
• Ensure smooth handovers between teams to reduce service risk.
• Coach and support colleagues, sharing knowledge and best practice.
• Step up to provide leadership cover when needed.
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying gaps and improving ways of working.
• Follow processes, policies, and security standards at all times.
