Job summary

Our client, an Oil and Gas Operator, is seeking an experienced Network Architect for a permanent role based in Aberdeen with a hybrid working system in place.

You will define the network strategy, lead a high‑performing engineering team and ensure secure, resilient connectivity across UK and international locations. Collaboration with IT Operations, Digital & Data and business partners will be essential to align technology with strategic goals.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Network Architect or senior network leadership role.
• Strong expertise across enterprise networking (LAN, WAN, wireless, security) and cloud connectivity.
• Experience leading and developing technical teams.
• Experience managing third-party network providers and SLAs.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally.

Our client, an Oil and Gas Operator is seeking an experienced Network Architect. This is a permanent staff position based in Aberdeen with a hybrid working system in place.

The Role

Reporting into the IT Operations & Delivery Manager, this is a senior technical leadership role with accountability for defining the network strategy, architecture standards and long-term roadmap across UK and international operations. You will provide expert guidance on network design, helping to enable business growth while maintaining operational excellence

Working closely with colleagues across IT, Digital & Data and the wider business, you will translate complex connectivity requirements into practical, scalable solutions. Strong Communication will be essential as you build trusted relationships with stakeholders, partners and suppliers.

You will lead and develop a team of network professionals, creating an environment that encourages Learning, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. Through Empowerment & Accountability, you will support your team to take ownership of outcomes while maintaining high technical and professional standards.

Network security, resilience and business continuity will sit at the heart of the role. Experience & Qualifications

Proven experience in a Network Architect or senior network leadership role.

Strong expertise across enterprise networking, including LAN, WAN, wireless, security and cloud connectivity.

Demonstrable experience leading and developing technical teams.

Experience managing third-party network and telecommunications providers, contracts and service levels.

Relevant networking certification such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent practical experience.

Strong stakeholder management skills and willingness to travel within the UK and internationally when required
