As a Band 5 Trainee Neonatal Nurse, you will receive training, support, and development to become Qualified in Specialty (QIS), building knowledge and confidence to deliver high-quality, family-centred care.
This is a fantastic development opportunity to start or transition into a neonatal nursing career. Trainees will benefit from a full induction programme and structured preceptorship, supported by our Education Team. You will work alongside skilled neonatal nurses and neonatologists in various care settings.

The NICU at UHS has recently expanded, making it an exciting time to join. You will be a motivated, enthusiastic individual embracing change and new opportunities.
You will work with a team caring for the region's most complex neonates, supported by highly skilled colleagues and working collaboratively with families, including Family Integrated Care. UHS NICU is a cardiac and surgical centre serving referrals across Wessex, working with regional maternity services to support NHS England's 'Better Births' agenda. The unit includes teams such as regional transport (SONET), family support, psychology, surgical nurses, and more, ensuring excellent support for bedside nurses to provide optimal neonatal care.
