Job summary

NHS Grampian’s Aberdeen Neonatal Unit invites applications for a Band 6 Clinical Educator. You will lead induction, preceptorship, competency assessment and ongoing professional development, while supporting education and workforce improvement across neonatal care.

This role requires a passion for teaching, strong communication and leadership skills, and the ability to work closely with nursing, medical and multidisciplinary colleagues to drive high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with valid registration and appropriate scope of practice.
• Qualified in Specialty (QIS) Neonatal Nurse or equivalent experience in neonatal care.
• Experience in neonatal intensive care, high dependency and special care settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead induction, preceptorship and competency assessment for neonatal staff.
• Coordinate simulation training and ongoing professional development across the unit.
• Support learning, evidence-based practice and workforce development to improve patient outcomes.
