Job summary

Northumberland County Council is seeking a trained Grounds, Public Convenience and Street Cleansing Operative to deliver an efficient service to pre-determined standards and schedules. You will have experience of vehicle checks, CoSHH safety policies and driving-related legislation, and you must hold a full driving licence and be able to operate related tools and equipment.

Weekend work is required; NCC offers 26 days leave, the Local Government Pension Scheme and a flexi scheme to support

Qualifications

• You must be trained in Grounds, Public Convenience and Street Cleansing operations.
• You must have experience of vehicle checks and knowledge of driving-related legislation.
• You must be familiar with CoSHH safety policies and associated regulations.
• You will have the strength, dexterity and coordination to operate plant and equipment.
• You must be available to work at weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient street cleansing, public conveniences and grounds maintenance to pre-determined standards and schedules.
• Carry out vehicle checks and operate tools and equipment as required.
• Work outdoors in all weathers and traffic conditions.
• Ensure compliance with CoSHH and driving related regulations.

Job description

You will provide an efficient and effective street cleansing, public convenience and grounds-maintenance service to pre-determined standards and in accordance with predetermined schedules.

• You must be a trained Grounds, Public Convenience and Street Cleansing Operative with experience of carrying out vehicle checks and experience in CoSHH safety policies and will have knowledge of legislation and regulations relating to driving.


• You must hold a full driving licence.


• You must have relevant knowledge of the range of tasks together with the operation of associated tools and equipment.


• You will have the strength, dexterity and co-ordination to deal with plant and operate equipment.


• You must be available to work at weekends


• Working outdoors in all weathers and traffic conditions.
