Job summary

Northumberland County Council (NCC) is seeking an operative to provide street cleansing, public convenience and grounds-maintenance services at Lionheart Depot, Alnwick, United Kingdom. The role requires full driving licence, COSHH awareness and the ability to work outdoors in all weather, including weekends, to agreed schedules.

The successful candidate will carry out vehicle checks, operate associated tools and equipment, and comply with relevant legislation.

Qualifications

• Experience carrying out vehicle checks and knowledge of CoSHH safety policies.
• Full driving licence held.
• Knowledge of tasks and operation of related tools and equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather and traffic conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide an efficient street cleansing, public convenience and grounds-maintenance service to pre-determined standards and in accordance with predetermined schedules.
• Work to pre-determined schedules.
• Be available to work weekends.
• Maintain health and safety in line with CoSHH policies.

Job description

You will provide an efficient and effective street cleansing, public convenience and grounds-maintenance service to pre-determined standards and in accordance with predetermined schedules.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB

• You must be a trained Grounds, Public Convenience and Street Cleansing Operative with experience of carrying out vehicle checks and experience in CoSHH safety policies and will have knowledge of legislation and regulations relating to driving.
• You must hold a full driving licence.
• You must have relevant knowledge of the range of tasks together with the operation of associated tools and equipment.
• You will have the strength, dexterity and co-ordination to deal with plant and operate equipment.
• You must be available to work at weekends
• Working outdoors in all weathers and traffic conditions.
