Job summary

Serco is seeking Advanced Mechanical Assemblers to support U.S. Naval Ships in Norfolk, VA. You will join a dynamic team on a high-profile project, fabricating and assembling electromechanical components for C5ISR system installations.

You will follow blueprints, perform preventive maintenance, and work in shipboard environments with safety as a priority. A DoD Secret clearance and OSHA respirator qualifications are required, with potential travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance.
• Ability to access shipyards and pass background/drug screening.
• Ability to obtain OSHA certification and respirator qualification.
• Experience with power tools and assembling large and intricate mechanical assemblies.
• Shipboard experience in related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow blueprints, diagrams to fabricate/assemble electromechanical and electronic assemblies.
• Maintain equipment through preventive maintenance and report malfunctions.
• Work with standard practices and procedures in the field.
• Plan and accomplish goals with limited experience.
• Work on U.S. Naval Ships and installations in challenging conditions.
• Wear PPE and manage safety with potential hazards.
