Job summary

NRL is seeking four experienced Hydraulic Technicians to support BAE Systems at Scotstoun Shipyard in Glasgow. This short-term assignment offers skilled technicians the chance to work on critical hydraulic systems with independence in a high-pressure environment.

The rate is £320 per day PAYE with a £15 daily food allowance, and a start date of 1 October 2026. Shifts are 12 hours long, with day or night options, and the role is based at Scotstoun Shipyard, Glasgow.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in pneumatic and hydrostatic pressure testing.
• Ability to run high-pressure hydraulic units without supervision.
• Competence in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with safety procedures during hydraulic testing.
• Willingness to undergo security clearance for naval base work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out pneumatic and hydrostatic pressure testing on hydraulic systems.
• Operate high-pressure hydraulic units independently.
• Inspect and identify hydraulic fittings to ensure system integrity.
• Interpret and work from technical drawings accurately.
• Maintain safety procedures during all operations.
• Report and document testing results promptly and accurately.
