Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a National Transport Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of the Valero contract across a nationally dispersed fuel network.

You will influence senior stakeholders, drive safety, compliance, and profitability while managing large multi-site teams and a strong unionised environment. Based in the UK, you will partner with Trade Union representatives and GXO leadership to deliver continuous improvement, customer success, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in transport operations across multi-site environments.
• Strong commercial acumen with budget ownership and cost control.
• Experience in unionised environments and industrial relations management.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end operational performance of the Valero contract, driving service excellence, safety, compliance, and productivity across a nationally dispersed transport network
• Take full accountability for contract profitability, budget management, cost control, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and commercial performance
• Champion a strong culture of health, safety, wellbeing, and regulatory compliance, ensuring robust governance and operational standards are maintained across all locations
• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior customer stakeholders, acting as the key operational lead for contract governance, service delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Inspire and develop high-performing teams while fostering positive Trade Union relationships, leading industrial relations activity, succession planning, talent development, and workforce engagement
