Job summary

NHS Blood and Transplant is seeking a Programme Manager within the Clinical Services Directorate. The role involves leading complex programmes from planning through delivery, with governance, risk, budgets and benefits realisation, on a national level with England-wide travel and hybrid working options.

The role requires strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams across remote locations.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant subject with a postgraduate specialist qualification, or demonstrable equivalent experience in a specialist area.
• PRINCE2 Practitioner Certificate or equivalent
• Commitment to continued professional development

Responsibilities

• Lead high-profile programmes from planning through to delivery.
• Shape delivery plans, governance arrangements and resources to achieve outcomes.
• Work with senior stakeholders to build support and influence decisions.
• Monitor progress, manage risks and provide visibility on delivery.
• Lead benefits realisation to ensure measurable value from investment.
• Support business readiness and change for new ways of working.
• Manage programme budgets and resources to ensure effective use of public funds.
• Lead, coach and develop multi-disciplinary teams.
• Manage programmes from inception to completion within the Clinical Services Directorate.
• Travel and stay away from base as required.
