Job description

The National Maintenance Manager is responsible for the effective and efficient planned, preventative, and corrective maintenance activities for all Teraco assets nationally, ensuring maximum system availability and uptime.

Objectives
Main Functions Of The Job
Maintenance Management
  • Manage planned, preventative, and corrective maintenance activities for all Teraco Data Centres to ensure maximum system availability.
  • Manage maintenance methods to achieve all SLAs and MSAs.
  • Ensure all corrective works are completed timely and to Teraco standards.
  • Conduct regular supplier reviews to maintain relationships and drive quality service.
  • Standardise maintenance activities across all facilities where possible.
  • Manage data centre infrastructure to support 99.999% electrical uptime and 99.99% mechanical uptime.
  • Coordinate maintenance efforts to uphold Teraco standards.
  • Identify areas for service improvement through retrospective sessions.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce maintenance schedules.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
  • Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for maintenance issues.
  • Complete administrative tasks as required.
  • Ensure client notifications are concise, accurate, timely, and sent to correct recipients.
  • Review maintenance system tasks for proper documentation.
  • Verify uploaded maintenance documentation meets Teraco standards and conduct quality checks.
  • Provide weekly updates on maintenance tasks and audits.
  • Ensure assets are correctly loaded and linked on the maintenance system.
  • Offer training and support on the maintenance platform to the team.
  • Perform work in accordance with established procedures.
  • Continuously review and improve methods of procedures (MOP).
  • Participate in site hand-over from construction to operations.
  • Analyze and optimize maintenance planning systems for efficiency.
Compliance
  • Maintain compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Support HR in achieving developmental goals.
  • Meet operational level agreements (OLAs) with other departments.
  • Monitor H&S compliance and implement corrective actions.
  • Implement policies, processes, and work instructions as per quality standards.
  • Participate in external and internal audits.
Critical System Management
  • Ensure maintenance events are scheduled correctly.
  • Manage all maintenance to meet SLAs and MSAs.
  • Maintain PUE levels through proper working methods.
  • Accurately report task completion within timelines.
Budget
  • Oversee maintenance budgeting and tracking.
  • Review monthly operating costs and recommend improvements.
  • Develop budgets for short, medium, and long-term maintenance needs.
  • Review stock and equipment annually for condition and appropriateness.
Data Centre Ethics
  • Maintain compliance with industry best practices.
  • Enforce data centre standards and cleanliness.
People Management
  • Conduct annual KPI reviews with team members.
  • Identify training and development opportunities.
  • Hold regular team meetings and feedback sessions.
