Protocol Education Limited is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a welcoming primary school in Islington, Central London. You will work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to support pupils with SEN, helping them access learning and make progress. Hours are 8:30am–4:00pm, Monday to Friday, on a full-time basis with ASAP start. Previous experience with SEN is desirable; qualifications and safeguarding training are required.

SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School

Location: Islington, Central London
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm

A welcoming primary school in Islington is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.


The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to provide targeted support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them access learning, develop confidence and make positive progress both academically and socially.


The Role


  • Supporting pupils with a range of SEN needs within the classroom

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required

  • Helping pupils engage with lessons and school activities

  • Supporting pupils with their communication, social and emotional development

  • Implementing individual learning and support strategies

  • Working closely with teachers, the SENCO and other support staff

  • Promoting positive behaviour and an inclusive learning environment


The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for someone who is:

  • Previous experience working with SEN pupils is desirable


Working hours: 8:30am–4:00pm, Monday to Friday.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
