Highdown School and Sixth Form Centre seeks a dedicated Music Technician to support the thriving Music Department. The role involves assisting with music technology coursework, setting up PA systems for performances, and maintaining equipment in a busy school environment.

You will work part-time (20hrs/week) term time, collaborating with the Head of Music to deliver lessons and co-curricular activities, while ensuring safety and high standards in all technical aspects.

Qualifications

• Experience in multi-track recording and sequencing.
• Confidence in setting up and operating PA systems for live performances and rehearsals.
• Practical ability to maintain and repair musical and technical equipment.
• Knowledge of software installation, including VST instruments.
• A flexible, conscientious and collaborative approach to supporting staff and students.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and use initiative.
• A good general education including GCSEs in English and Maths.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
• A relevant qualification in music technology or production, and prior experience supporting music in an educational setting, would be desirable.
