Job summary

Northgate High School is seeking casual technical support for its performing arts events, concerts and productions. The role covers sound and lighting setup, operation and pack-down, with collaboration with the Head of Music and Music Department.

You will assist with sound delivery, set-up, and live operation during events, while supporting rehearsals and the school show. A proactive, team-minded approach and basic MS Word/Excel skills are desirable.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with sound (and lighting when required) for events.
• Set up equipment for events, concerts and shows.
• Liaise with Head of Music and department staff beforehand.
• Operate and balance sound during events and rehearsals.
• Support rehearsals and sound checks, e.g. Carol Service.
• Assist with school show sound/light provision and gear pack down.
• Oversee/assist students with lighting operation where needed.
• Get-out after events and pack away equipment properly.

Job description

We are looking for technical support on a casual basis for our performing arts events, concerts and productions, to include sound and lighting set-up, operation and pack down.

Main Responsibilities:

The main responsibilities include:

• Assist with delivery of sound (and where appropriate lighting) for events as required.
• Set-up equipment as required for events, concerts and the school show.
• Liaise with Head of Music and the Music Department team prior to events regarding requirements.
• Operate and manage sound during events and concerts including balance of microphones, DI and any AV requirements.
• Provide technical support for technical rehearsals and sound checks eg Carol Service rehearsal.
• Support the Head of Music with sound/lighting provision for the school show.
• Operate lighting for the school show and/or oversee/assist students with operation of lighting.
• Assist with get-out after events - packing away equipment appropriately.
