Job summary

Buckler's Mead Academy in Yeovil is seeking a part-time Music Technician to support classrooms, workshops and staff with safe handling of equipment and teaching materials. The role is 18.25 hours per week during term time only, plus 5 inset days, with a 6-month probationary period.

Duties include preparing resources, assisting with displays, and ensuring a clean, safe environment. The post requires working closely with teaching staff to create new teaching resources and to maintain safe

Job description

Required as soon as possible, a part time Music Technician, working hours are 18.25 hours per week, term time only plus 5 inset days. The post is subject to a 6 month probationary period.

Having sustained another "Outstanding" set of results in Summer 2026, and following on from our Ofsted visit in May 2024 where we were judged as a strong 'Good' in all areas, Buckler's Mead Academy is going from strength to strength.

Main Duties:

• To prepare classrooms, workshops and wider facilities for use by staff and students, ensuring a safe and tidy working environment.

• To prepare, supply and collect teaching materials, displays, apparatus and equipment, providing technical assistance.

• To support teaching staff and students on the safe and economic use of equipment and materials (including electrical equipment).

• To work with teaching staff in the creation of new teaching resources and materials.

• To ensure that classrooms and all equipment used are kept clean, tidy and in a safe condition.
