Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic Music Teacher for multiple Milton Keynes schools. The role covers KS3 and KS4 with KS5 potential, offering full-time permanent or long-term opportunities. Start ASAP or from October half term 2026 with a competitive MPS/UPS dependent on experience.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Are you an enthusiastic Music Teacher who is passionate about inspiring young people through performance, composition, and creativity?

We are currently working with a number of inclusive and forward-thinking secondary schools across Milton Keys, who are looking to appoint talented and committed Music Teachers to join their teams ASAP or from October half term 2026.

These full-time opportunities are available on either a long-term or permanent basis, offering an exciting chance to join a supportive school community and make a lasting contribution to students' musical development.

The Role

As a Music Teacher, you will:

• Deliver engaging and well-planned Music lessons across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 opportunities available in some schools
• Teach a varied curriculum covering performance, composition, musical theory, listening, and analysis
• Encourage students to explore different musical styles, genres, and traditions
• Use music technology and digital resources to enhance creativity and learning
• Prepare students effectively for GCSE and A-Level Music, where applicable
• Encourage participation in choirs, bands, ensembles, concerts, productions, and extracurricular clubs
• Support students in developing their confidence, creativity, technical ability, and musical understanding
• Contribute to school performances, concerts, and wider arts events
• Create an inclusive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to experiment and express themselves

Who We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from Music Teachers who:

• Hold QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Have strong subject knowledge across Music and a genuine passion for the subject
• Are confident teaching both practical and theoretical aspects of Music
• Can inspire students through engaging, creative, and practical lessons
• Have experience or an interest in using music technology and digital software
• Possess strong classroom management skills and maintain high expectations
• Are enthusiastic about contributing to extracurricular music and performing arts activities
• Work well as part of a collaborative department
• Are committed to supporting students of all abilities and backgrounds
